The Dancing Raindrops
Ben watches the rainy day from his window until Pip, a cheerful little raindrop, hops inside and invites him to play. Together Ben and Pip splash, help flowers grow, and learn that some magical moments are short but very special.
On a rainy morning, Ben sat by the window and watched the raindrops race and dance down the glass. Ben was six years old, and he loved wondering about little things. “I wonder where you all are going,” he said softly.
One tiny raindrop stopped right in front of him. It blinked like a silver bead, then gave a cheerful little bounce. “Hello!” it sang. “My name is Pip. Would you like to play?”
Ben gasped, then smiled. He was curious, and he was brave too. “Yes, please!” he said.
Pip jumped lightly through a cracked-open window and landed in Ben’s palm with a cool, tickly splash. “First,” said Pip, “let’s go outside and visit the puddles!”

Ben put on his boots and ran into the gentle rain. Pip zipped beside him like a sparkling drop of light. They found a big puddle near the path. “Ready?” asked Pip.
“Ready!” said Ben.
Splash! Ben jumped in. Splash! Pip bounced up and down, making tiny rings on the water. Ben laughed as water popped around his boots. The rain felt fresh and happy.
Next, they stopped by the garden. The flowers had droopy heads, like they were sleepy. Pip twirled in the air and sprinkled each flower with a shining kiss of rain. Ben watched closely. “Hello, little flowers,” he whispered.
The flowers seemed to lift their heads a little, as if they were smiling.

Then Pip said, “Now for the best part!”
Pip began to dance in circles above Ben’s head. Ben spun and stepped and twirled with the raindrop, careful and joyful. They danced by the puddles, under the gray sky, and around the bright green grass. Ben felt as light as a leaf.
After a while, the clouds began to part. A warm golden sun peeked out. The puddles sparkled. The flowers stood tall.
Pip slowed down and smiled. “The sun is here,” Pip said gently. “I have to go now.”

Ben felt a tiny tug in his heart, but he smiled back. “Thank you for playing with me, Pip.”
Pip winked. “Thank you for saying yes.”
With one last happy twinkle, Pip hopped into the sunlight and vanished into the bright day.
Ben waved at the sparkling sky. He looked at the puddles, the flowers, and the sunshine, and he knew he would remember this rainy-day magic for a long, long time.
Ben learned that some friends stay only for a little while, but their joy can stay in your heart forever.
