The Magic Red Balloon
Mina receives a bright red magical balloon that floats higher than any other balloon. During a gentle sky adventure, Mina meets two friendly birds, Pip and Poppy, and a soft cloud named Cloudy. When the balloon string starts to slip, Mina stays calm and uses a clever idea to ask Cloudy and the birds for help, safely getting back down before bedtime.
Mina was a little girl who loved quiet play, warm hugs, and bedtime stories. One sunny afternoon, her grandma gave her a surprise: a bright red balloon tied with a shiny white string.
“Oh!” Mina said. “It is the reddest balloon I have ever seen!”
“It is special,” Grandma said with a smile. “See where it wants to go.”
Mina held the string, and the red balloon gave a happy wiggle. Then it floated up. It floated higher than any other balloon in the park. Higher and higher it went, soft as a feather and light as a dream.
“Whee!” Mina laughed. “You really can fly!”
Up in the sky, Mina saw two friendly birds. One was named Pip, and the other was named Poppy. They flapped close and sang, “Hello, little girl! Hello, bright red balloon!”

“Hello!” Mina called. “I am Mina, and this is my balloon.”
“We like your balloon,” said Pip.
“It is very brave and very red,” said Poppy.
Soon a fluffy cloud drifted near. It was round and soft and gentle like a pillow. “Good afternoon,” said the cloud in a whispery voice. “You may call me Cloudy.”
Mina giggled. “Hello, Cloudy. Your cheeks look like cotton candy.”
Cloudy puffed up with delight. The balloon floated past Cloudy’s soft edge, and Mina felt a tiny breeze on her nose. Pip and Poppy fluttered beside her while she waved to little sky shapes that looked like a rabbit, a teapot, and a sleeping sheep.
It was a short, sweet sky adventure, and Mina felt calm and happy.

Then Mina noticed something small and tricky. The white string began to slip through her fingers.
“Oh dear,” Mina said, but she did not panic. She took a slow breath. “I need a clever idea.”
Cloudy floated a little closer. “What do you need, Mina?”
“I need to get down before bedtime,” Mina said. “Can you help me?”
“Of course,” said Cloudy.
Mina smiled. She wrapped the string carefully around her wrist, just like Grandma had shown her with ribbons. Then she asked Pip and Poppy to guide her toward the big maple tree in the yard, where Grandma was waiting below with a blanket and a bedtime hug.

Pip and Poppy fluttered ahead, chirping happily. Cloudy gave a gentle puff of air, and the red balloon drifted down, slow and safe, as if it knew the way home.
Soon Mina’s feet touched the grass.
Grandma opened her arms. “There you are, my dear.”
Mina gave her a snug hug and looked up at the bright red balloon, still shining in the evening light.
“I stayed calm and used my head,” Mina said.
Grandma nodded. “That was very clever.”
Mina smiled all the way to bedtime, while Pip and Poppy flew home and Cloudy floated on with the sunset. And the magic red balloon rested nearby, ready for another gentle adventure another day.
