Little Duckling wants to swim in the big pond like Duck Mama, Duck Papa, Frog, and Turtle. He splashes, tips, and tries again. Frog shows him tiny kicks. Turtle shows him slow steps. Little Duckling learns that small steps make swimming fun and easy.

Little Duckling was tiny and yellow.

He looked at the big pond. "I want to swim like my family!" he said.

Duck Mama smiled. Duck Papa nodded. Little Duckling ran to the water. Splash! He tipped over.

He tried again. Splash! He wobbled and fell.

Then a friendly frog hopped up. "Small kicks," said Frog. A kind turtle smiled too. "Slow steps," said Turtle.

Little Duckling tried small kicks. Flap, flap. He took slow steps. Plip, plop.

This time, he stayed up. He floated. He paddled. He giggled.

"I can do it!" said Little Duckling.

Duck Mama, Duck Papa, Frog, and Turtle cheered.

Little Duckling swam in the big pond. Small steps made it fun and easy.

Moral: Small steps help us learn new things.
