Once upon a time, there was a fluffy dog named Toby. Toby had floppy ears and a tail that went wag-wag-wag! Every morning, Toby’s best friend, a boy named Sam, put on his backpack. "I will be back soon, Toby," Sam would say with a gentle pat. Toby knew what to do. He sat by the big red door. He was a very loyal dog. First, Toby watched a bright yellow butterfly dance past the window. Then, Toby played with his favorite squeaky ball. He even took a little nap on his soft, blue rug. Sometimes he missed Sam, but he knew Sam always came back.

Toby waited and waited with a happy heart. Suddenly, he heard a sound. Click-clack! The door opened wide. "Toby! I’m home! " Sam cried. Toby jumped up and gave Sam a big doggy hug. He was so happy he stayed right there, waiting just for his friend. Toby learned that waiting is easy when you love someone very much.
